With many different ways to straighten crooked teeth, Invisalign is a tooth straightening option which avoids traditional metal braces, instead using clear, almost invisible aligners to get your desired smile.

After a full orthodontic assessment where we look at what you would like to achieve, we can create for you a personalised series of clear plastic aligners which will gently apply pressure to the teeth and move them slowly into their new positions.

As part of the treatment, we may need to add areas of white filling material to facilitate a more controlled movement. Sometimes we need to minimally polish in between the teeth to create space, especially if the teeth are very crowded together. This won’t compromise the health of the teeth. The aligners are worn for 20-22 hours a day, you will even sleep with them in! By having a removable option, you will be able to eat and clean your teeth with ease.  As the teeth move, you will simply have the change your aligners every 7-10 days until the end.

After you have completed your series of aligners it is important to ensure that your new smile stays in the same position by retaining them and appropriate options will be discussed with you.

It is possible to treat nearly every concern with Invisalign, from crowding and spacing, to reducing deep overbites and overjets. The trays are discreet and easy to care for, and treatment time usually takes between 3 to 12 months. At the end of treatment, we may need to polish the edges of the teeth or add filling material to the edge of the tooth to improve the shape of them. Your retainers will also act as whitening trays to help brighten the colour of the teeth also.
